Two musicians who have long worked closely together, artistically and humanly well together, pushing their quest for new worlds of music forever, maintaining a well-defined personality, sound and expression.

The repertoire is rich and varied: in addition to compositions inedite in lingua portoghese e siciliana, sono presenti diverse rielaborazioni di standard del jazz e della bossa nova, nonché di canzoni MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) e di tradizionali fado e siciliani.

Il sodalizio artistico tra Sandro Maccarrone e Stefania Patanè ha inizio nel 1996. La loro attività concertistica in duo ha inizio alcuni anni dopo, con realizzazione del progetto Musaika (“Musiche del Sud”). Il duo è presente sulla scena siciliana da più di dieci anni, avendo preso parte a svariati festival e rassegne musicali nell'ambito del jazz e della musica etnica, tra cui si ricordano: il “Salone della musica di Catania” - 2000, le aperture Concert Nenna Freelon and Toninho Horta - 2000, "The enormous time" and "routes of art" - Catania 2002-2003, "Encounters on the streets" - Spello 2003 - "Jazz Plaza 2009" - "Known Jazz 2010 "The participation in an Italian television program - 2000 (Rai Tre) and the Award Unless Randone (Ribera 2006).

Their music has been chosen for the Comenius project, which is the establishment of a multimedia CD presentation of Sicily, for the high schools of the European Community countries.

SANDRO MACCARRONE
Guitarist, composer and arranger.
has participated in music projects of all kinds, ranging from jazz to pop and ethnic music.
He has composed music for theater, radio broadcasts (for the Foxy John - Rome) and documentaries.

Mainly self-taught, owes its artistic and technical training seminars also guitarists such as Joe Diorio, Mike Stern, Ralph Towner and Nguyên Lê (as an interpreter and assistant).

STEFANIA PATAN

Singer, songwriter teacher. Involved in several musical projects in the jazz and bossa nova, has for several years teaching and a busy concert schedule. E 'CMT (Certified Master Teacher)' s Estill Voice Training System (Voicecraft), vocal technique developed by American researcher and singer Jo Estill, and has studied under the guidance of the CIC (Certified Instructor Course) Elisa Turlà.
Lureata in jazz (level II) at the Conservatory "A. Corelli" Messina is a professor of singing at the following facilities: CESM (CT), JAZZ PALERMO (PA), Music F. CILEA (jazz singing jazz in the three years, RC).
